For the moment, the wholesale industry has recovered from the restrictions of COVID-19, however, it is difficult to say how the introduced sanctions against legal and natural persons from the Republic of Russia and Belarus, due to the invasion of Ukraine, may affect the industry. The introduced sanctions prevent any kind of cooperation with suppliers, as well as the possibility of exporting goods - which can severely affect various types of companies in Latvia in the long term, considering that it is not known when the war in Ukraine might end, and it is also not clear whether these sanctions are planned to be lifted.

A relatively small number of companies have been liquidated (for the time being according to the available data) by 01.01.2023 or are facing financial difficulties.
